Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a really common condition in skin of colour and within the BAME (Black Asian Minority Ethnic) community. Injury or inflammation causes the over production of melanin (the substance that gives skin its colour), forming the characteristic dark marks on the skin. This can last months or even years.
